while presenting the union budget 2017 in the parliament the finance minister arun jaitley erted, india is on the cusp of a m ive digital revolution. he also sketched out many schemes boosting the digital india paign.

arun jaitley said, “digigov facilities will be encouraged for education, healthcare and skills to the villages. he also added smart villages are in the making. promotion of #digitaleconomy an integral part of strategy to clean up system and weed out corruption.”

he said, our agenda for the next year is transform, energize and clean india – #tecindia.

while presenting the budget the finance minister said, bhim app & digitization, curbing illegal deposits, is expected to get a high focus in the coming months.

he added, payment regulatory board to be set up under central reserve bank. payment regulatory board will replace the existing payment and settlement system. irctc, irfc, ircon to be listed in stock exchanges as well.
the fm said, additional 10 lakh new point-of-sale terminals to be issued soon.

earlier, jaitley also erted that service charges on railway tickets booked online through irctc will be withdrawn. he added that online bookings have gone up from 58% to 68% since prime minister narendra modi announced the demoneti ion drive.

the finance minister erted that the rail safety fund with corpus of rs 100,000 crore will be created over a period of 5 years adding that a new metro rail policy will be announced which will open up new jobs for the youth.

while presenting the budget, the finance minister affirmed that at least 25 stations are expected to be awarded during 2017 . additionally, 500 stations are to be made differently abled-friendly by providing lifts & escalators.
